Current status on new .32 NAA Mini

Also some vid links, which I have looked at now. #03 is interesting re use of Extreme shock ammo - the NAA 32 (necked down .380).  Would you believe, they take a 300#+ hog with two shots of that!!!

I am following that too, Chris. Looks pretty interesting.

I know this is supposed to be a break-top type, but I am not sure where it pivots?  Hard to tell from the photo.  

I like the fact it has a trigger guard.  Those pics look a bit rough, but its just a prototype.

Looks like a solid frame in that pic doesn't it Duane - yes I too had heard about top break.

I guess we just keep an eye on things for now.

I don't know whether anyone has viewed the vids - they are quite big at around 20Mb each - but the one on the mini itself (#1 IIRC) showed an interesting comparison.

Chrono'd .22LR from std rifle - approx 1160fps.

Do same with Mini and a .22 WMR round - almost the same - made the mini still seem quite handy.

I know this is supposed to be a break-top type, but I am not sure where it pivots?  Hard to tell from the photo.  

It looks like it pivots right in front of the cylinder, a sort of internal pivot.  You can see the "break top" line at the top/rear of the cylinder.

Ahh - could be you are right there Kevin - hard to see.  But I wonder what the lock-up mechanism is - perhaps that ''button'' on right side of frame is part of it.

I am also hoping they shave some weight off.  Granted, NAA is not known for extremely light weight, but 16 oz. is a lot for this gun if it is to be a "j-frame" killer.

A 5-shot .32 Mag smaller and lighter than an Airweight j-frame (15 oz.) should be their goal.

Hi all.  I was at SHOT today and spoke with a guy at the NAA booth about this revolver.  Sounded to me like it was a .32 H&R Magnum, not .32NAA.  Anyway, he said that they had hoped to have it ready for the show but it wasn't where they wanted it yet.  Among other things, they "still want to make it smaller to fit the rest of our product line" I was told.

I had only actually been thinking .32 mag anyways - tho the NAA 32 for the Guardian is impressive.

I'd rather they got the gun well sorted tho before offering it - I will hope to see the actual finished gun on the market before too long - and may well be a buyer.  

Love my NAA Mini in .22 Mag already for some time.

My impression was that it was 1-2 months out.  Agree, the extra development is worth the wait.  I think the .32NAA round may have more potential than people give it credit for, though ammo availablity and price are still problems.  The NAA guy didn't know of any impending agreements by an ammo company (other than CorBon) to make the chambering. :-/

I keep seeing it referred to here as the 32NAA, but that is already the name of an existing NAA gun, the Guardian in 32NAA.  This gun doesn't have an official name yet, but when you call it a 32NAA it makes it confusing.

Sandy has said that the gun is scheduled to be out for sale around Fall 2006.

I hear they have the prototype at the show, but are only showing it to selected people.

I went back to the NAA booth on Sunday and asked about it again.  This time, I got even less info - "look on the website under Sandy's Soapbox."  The guy telling me was Sandy, OBTW.  Gee, thanks for that info Sandy - could have stayed home and read it.  If they had the prototype at the show, he sure wasn't offering to show it to me.  

Overall, I wasn't impressed with Sandy's condescending attitude, and no longer have an interest in this revolver, or anything from NAA.
