1911 mags

I recently bought a used Mark IV model 70 Colt .45 and was really impressed with the way it shot.  First mag full ended up with two clover leaves seperated by a single hole with a spread of maybe 1.5".  Ok this was at seven yards but still impressive, especially since it was the very first time I shot it.  Not so impressive was the Colt factory mag that cause the last round, on several occasions, to stove pipe.  So, I need to obtain some 1911 mags and was wondering what everyone thought were the best out there.

I prefer Wilson magazines for my 1911.

I think that bad mags are the source of a LOT of 1911 feeding problems.

I think there is little doubt the Wilson mags are as good as any out there.  Another alternative is the Chip McCormick Shooting Star mags.  I prefer the Wilsons though.

I agree with Duane, both Wilson and Chip's mags are good. I like the Wilson the best.  Tom

Suncoast Gun Show?  You should find them there.  If not, order from Brownells for about $25 each -- no tax and depending on how many, it may qualify the the lightweight shipping rate.

I sent my Sig P239 9mm down to Virgil Tripp to have the slide hard chrome plated, frame was a silver satin Cobra polymer coat, and he added MMC night sights.

The pistol is pretty darn nice!

His work is excellent.

I use Wilson magazines in my Kimber but have had problems with weak springs.  After replacing them with Wolff springs, it is sometimes difficult to fully insert a loaded magazine with the slide closed until the springs take a set.  Otherwise, this combination works well.
