They are getting hard to find but asking for $750 used and getting it are two different things.  Some of the sellers on GunsAmerica get a little carried away with asking prices.

Something like this is probably a good collector gun though:http://www.gunsamerica.com/guns/976574387.htm

>>I picked up a .9mm SP 101 with 2.25" barrel a month ago off the Glock Want Ads for $425 as I recall.  It's a nice gun and at a price I felt was quite fair.  Shortly thereafter I saw one for sale at $950...!...TW<<

>>Cuteo...

My .9mm SP-101 shoots GREAT...!...especially so after I put a pair of CT grips on it...!!...is a real tack driver **WIDEA**GRINS**, although with more felt recoil than I had expected (I'm used to shooting my S&W J-frames with .38 Special).

Regaeding design of this SP-101...  At first I wasn't sure how I would like the use of Moon Clips, but quickly warmed up to it.  Only down side to the clips, having 20 or so for the gun, is that I tend to shoot A LOT of ammo through it each outing...but given it's in .9mm, and having thousands of rounds on hand - I've learned to live with it - LOL...!  Compared to my Smiths the Ruger trigger cycles a bit rough, but that was expected and it is quite liveable...although I am considering having it worked on, just because I can.  The only other SP-101 I have is in .22 LR and that gun came to me having been tweaked and tuned, and also with CT grips.  I LOVE the look of SP-101s...!...and appreciate the ruggedness of design over my J-frames - especially the cylinder release latch.

And Tom...you are right about how lucky I was to find this deal...although I have Duane to thank for alerting me to the ad for this prize purchase (thank you, thank you, thank you...) - and believe you me I was on it in a heartbeat...!

What a great forum this is...!...you never know what you will find around here, but you can rely on knowledgeable and friendly people to share it with you...!!  I only wish more forum members would come out of the woodwork to participate, rather than just lurk.  After all, we don't bite...well, except for RJ, and I have been assured he has had all his shots...TW<<
