Several months back, there was an auction for a Tie Pin shaped like a PUP. I won the thing obviously and at the time thought I might use it occasionally. However, upon doing some cleaning up in the weapage drawer I ran across it and thought, ya know, somebody might actually wear this thing. Being my normal modes of attire rum from tactical gear to the preverbial (and official Florida uniform being) t-shirt, shorts and flip flops, I just don't see me wearing this thing. SO here it is up for grabs.
I would like to get what I paid for it obviously but a best offer will also suffice. For the life of me, I tried searching using keywords to find the original thread to no avail. Maybe Rich can find it, he's pretty good at that stuff here. I think I paid just over 150 for it but don't remember.
In short, its the sterling silver pin modeled after the R9 and has a letter of "first run" authenticity from one of the brothers.

I'm not Richard but here is the info.
You did $180 on it. :o

That be the one!...Tks Corey
The pin in question is the first one or more descriptively, the two tone one on the left in the second picture.
I'd go 150 on it just to get it to someone who can enjoy it.
PP fine on this for ease of transaction.
Tks

I just tuned in on a break from working on a brief here at Critter Creek and saw this thread. Here is a link which contains a photograph of the pin/tie tack which Ed made for me:

These little jewels are unique. If you don't wear coat and tie very often, they add a touch of je ne se qua to the pocket flap of a BDU shirt. 8)

Being silver and on BDUs ACUs or whatever....someone might salute me and get me shot...or...just aim and shoot at it with one of those bloody Dragunovs ;D
Your pin looks nice Richard, this one is almost identical but the serial on mine reads 101....hehehe (I.E. "first pin)
-
OK...nobody wants this thing?
Make your offers on it....!

Now let's see......... ;)

After careful consideration, I will have to leave it for someone else. I would probably never wear it.

I don't wear ties! or pins attached to shirts or coats; however, that's a good idea! :)
-
Seems like you guys dress like I do....
Maybe I can pin it on one of my flipflops...

Enigma:
If you don't get a better offer for that beautiful silver R9 pin in the near future, I'll take it for whatever you paid for it. Just give me a PM.
I, for one, wear: Propper or Voodoo Tactical BDUs; Carhart work gear; Wrangler jeans; Cabelas hunting gear; John Daniel tuxedoes, business suits, silk ties, sport coats, and slacks; English riding togs; SCUBA wet suits; or whatever the Hell else might be appropriate to the situation -- but I always add a bit of "bling" (gold, silver, ivory, lapis, whatever) just for show.
I know, of course, that you often need to cover up the "bling." (I first learned that lesson innocently enough as a very young man when a baraccuda struck at a gold pendant dangling from my neck 90' down in the Tongue of the Ocean off Andros Island. Years later in 1993, ignoring the lesson learned off Andros, I lost a gold Rolex Submariner to "superior armed force" during some unpleasantness in an African military coup.) However, as far as I have been able to ascertain, I am passing this way only once. I still like a little "bling."

P7. There ya go and Richard; good for you; excellent offer.

If you don't get an offer for that pin in the next few days, I'll take it for whatever you paid for it. Just give me a PM. I wear ties,
Paid 180 as per Coreys investigation...YOU sir, can pay whatever you like... ;D
P.S. Tried wearing ties once but everyone still kept staring at my flipflops

John
I use to wear "deck types" but the endless summers down here caused "WAF" issues
-
John. That pin would look good attached to one of the Crocs! :D

Gentlemen:
I reached for my glass of beverage almost as old as I am, hit the send button by mistake, edited the post, and found that you had already responded. Either I am getting slower, or you all are getting faster.
Enigma, give some other members a chance for a few days. If there are no takers, let me know. I would be honored to add your R9 pin to my collection.

What! ;D
-
Richard,
I amended my post to fit your edited post. ;D
John

John. I am glad you did that, and as stated previously; Richard, that was an excellent offer, all kidding aside!

Is this a case of "Last Post Syndrome"? May I respectfully suggest that one either make an offer for the item or abandon the thread?
-
Richard. I think your offer will stand!
-
One very common location to display the pin has not been mentioned yet. And that is on your Favorite ball Cap. I have mine on my Nighthawk Cap. Would go good on an NRA Hat, Bravo Company, Military......... ;D hmmmm the choices are endless ......

Boy am I ever confused...again :P
I have read and reread the posts here and I am not sure if Mr S wants it actually or is being "compelled" to purchase or guilted into it. It doesn't appear anyone else wanted it from my study of the thread.
I just want all to know that if goes, great if not, thats ok too. No big deal.
Now on Richards "attire" post: sounds like a scene out of a James Bond parody flick...I can see him now...exiting the water on a cool crisp nite, walking up the beach while stripping from his scuba gear revealing the tuxedo underneath...he checks his wrist for the time on the submariner. He realizes that he has been dropped off too late and has to go to plan "B". He strips the tuxedo revealing the mossy oak camo gear underneath...he will have to "sneak up" on'em this time......well you get the picture ;D
-
P7,
Forget selling the pin and write a few action adventure books.;D
John
-
;D hehe
I have contemplated a few times writing a novel believe it or not...I have some really good story lines that would probably be of interest to most perps in here.
-
Enigma:
I apologize for the single-malt reverie in that post, but I like your OO7 parody image. (However, the fit of the tuxedo is precise and would not permit the mossy oak underlayer.)
To end any confusion, the last time I felt compelled to do anything out of guilt it was to pay a speeding ticket when I was absolutely "guilty as charged." I want the pin. Since I already have one, I just thought it would be courteous to give some other member who might want one but had not yet seen the offer a little time to act by matching my bid -- in which case I would defer.
I'll watch this thread for a few days and then be in touch by PM.
-
mmmmmm...single malt!
and you mentioned it was almost as old as you....must have been some cheap 25 year old stuff, hehe...just looking out for ya boss ;)
-
Enigma:
No matching bids having been offered, please proceed as we discusssed with mounting the pin on the top of the presentation box you are completing for me.
Thank you, my friend.
Richard

No problem boss....the "thread is now dead"...
