Hello,
I recently purchased a R9 stealth and noticed upon disassembly there was quite a bit of wear, as judged by removal of anodized finish, to the frame. The top of the frame where the slide rides has no anodizing, but is smooth and shiny-is that normal? The guy I bought from said less than 200 rounds through it and gun functioned great-I really like it and the recoil is not at all bad, which I had asked about before purchasing it. Really like it, just curious what others have seen on the wear of frame. Thanks.

Mine first one looks beat up pretty bad inside.
Ran 50 rounds through a like new one and it had noticeable frame wear after just 50 rounds. Carry much, fire little.

Mine is a Covert with a Bill Wilson proprietary finish...very little wear on the frame, but some is evident after perhaps 300 rounds in several years. This may depend on the frequency, type and quality of cleaning and lubrication. Firing a few rounds, then cleaning will allow less abrasive quality to the pistol when fired than going 50 or 100 rounds between cleaning, especially if it is fired in long strings without being allowed to cool. Quality of ammo, and use of hot ammo or heavy bullets might also impact this issue.

Some initial wear to the aluminum frame by the R9's stainless steel slide is inevitable but self limiting. Just keep the piece lubricated at the slide/frame interface.
