It was called the "Coyote" with a tan Cerakote finish which I thought was a dumb name and an ugly color and apparently only a few were made. So, what do I know?  Calling this model a "Mission Tan" is clever marketing but is incorrect, to my recollection.

Interesting that the gunbroker description described the finish color as FDE, which is flat dark earth. Also, there is a Cerakote finish which is named, "Coyote Tan." It seems to me that it is reasonable that Rohrbaugh chose the name of "Coyote" because of the Cerakote color moniker.

I have to say that I stumbled on this as my first R9 while visiting the dealer, as funny as it sounds I was trying to track down this particular gun model on the Internet after seeing the gun (which happened was out and being sold in front of me) and found your thread with the gunbroker link that had store pictures of my FFL lol. This full cirlcle made me realize what i got to hold in the store, thanks to the buyer at the time, and what a great piece of work it is. The color is much better in person and the pictures do not do the finish justice... every little detail of the cerakote was masterfully crafted, enough to make me scour for hours on end trying to find another one! Thought you would all appreciate a quick post as this was top notch and amazing in person.

So is the best place the forum to find a decent price on a R9?

I would say yes IMHO. The other thing is that the guys on here are reputable characters for the most part. I bought my first R9 from GB and it had issues. The new company flipped for the warranty bill, but not what you really want. The one I purchased on the forum was a very fair deal IMO. Thanks again Norm.

I looked on GB earlier just to see if there are any and there is only one right now anyway.

WORLDS SMALLEST 9MM. Get one while ya can. The new ones look to be totally different.
