Title: SOLD: Yankee (RJ Style) Takedown Tool

Hi guys,

Somehow I ended up with two of Yankee2500's takedown tools.

I am offering (1) used R. J. Hedley style takedown tool for the Rohrbaugh 9mm & 380 from Yankee2500

I had one of these back in the day that was made by RJ Hedley. As I recall it is basically a brass punch, right?

It's rectangular on one end and tapers up to a sort of a rounded/dish - fork on the other end.  And yes, it was made out of brass.

Kind of like a very mini old west sling shot.

It was a very clever design and is timelessly functional for its designed purpose in disassembly and reassembly.

How is this tool used in the takedown process?

For disassembly, the tool is inserted from the top into the chamber enough for its tapered design to align the barrel pin with its extraction hole and hold the slide in position for removal of the pin. The cutout at the end of the tool is used to hold the compressed recoil assembly for easy insertion into the slide. Once the assembly is inserted, the tool is pulled free.

Chris ("R9SCarry"), the author of the FAQ section linked to the Forum, originally used an ordinary chop stick to hold the slide in position for removal of the barrel pin. As I recall, R. J. took that as the inspiration for naming his tool the "Stop Stick."
