Title: Bob Costas on Second Amendment Rights
Post by: Richard S on December 04, 2012, 08:11:57 AM
I never did think much of Bob Costas as a sports broadcaster. There just seemed to be something pretentious and shallow about him. It would appear that he has now presumed to expand the range of his analytical "wisdom" from the realm of sports to that of constitutional law and the rights of United States citizens. Henceforth, I for one shall be hitting the mute button whenever this pretentious little man appears on my television screen.

Calling Bob Costas a "pretentious little man" is an insult to pretentious little men!
Costas appeared on Bill O'Reilly's show this evening (05-Nov-12).  O'Reilly asked Costas to picture himself in that Colorado theater last summer.  Wouldn't Costas have wanted to have a gun to defend himself against the body armored gunman?  Costas said it would probably have made the situation worse.  O'Reilly, a defender of the Second Amendment but no great proponent of gun ownership himself, said he would sure want a gun in that case.
So Costas would rather wait for a bullet while cowering on the sticky floor of a movie auditorium than take a long shot with a handgun at a nut-case who is hell-bent on killing as many innocent people as possible.

Maybe my Psych major nephew is right.  He has been telling me for years that liberalism is a mental illness!

It's the typical NBC liberal mentality bias.   They'll probably give him a gold star.  It sure would be great during one of their talking head gun bashes if a football game would break out.

Steve:

Well stated. The operative word in your excellently worded post, I respectfully suggest, is "cowering."

After nearly 50 years at the Bar, I simply do not have the words to express the contempt I have for cowards. And I am reminded of the old but true maxim, "A coward dies a thousand deaths but a brave man only one."
