Thank you all for the very informative replies. Good to know about finish issues with the Nighthawks. That is something I haven't heard of yet, but very good to know. At the moment I'm leaning towards a few of the Wilson models and will have the opportunity to view them this weekend at the Tulsa Arms Show. I am very impressed with the Volkmann Precision and Chen Custom pistols that were referenced. Right now I think I'm leaning more towards Wilson's favor. I think that another factor that must be considered when I purchase a new custom 1911, is it's ability to somewhat holds it's value. With Wilson's name being more recognizable in the 1911 community, I think that it will hold it's value somewhat better than smaller manufacturers if I find myself later needing to sell the firearm. (hopefully this will never happen).
Again I will keep my eye's open and thank you all for the excellent info.
And John, I'm not rebuilding the inventory. There's plenty of stock left!! Just getting rid of some dead weight and making room for nicer, more shiny stuff!!
