Title: Tribute Edition
Post by: Z on June 28, 2012, 08:10:27 PM
My Tribute Edition is at my FFL

Maria called me yesterday and told me I have a surprise with my Tribute, but did not go into specifics.

I am on vacation and cannot pick it up till tomorrow afternoon.

I will post pictures once it is in hand, the wait is killing me.

Oh man.... I really hope they put the crests on the grips for you! Maybe the forum posts and the phone calls paid off. Excited to see the pics!

Congrats Adam. Looks like you got the Blue CF VZ grips with the Rohrbaugh crest. Glad they found a good home with a forum member.

I spoke to Maria and she said they were the only set of grips with the crest and they will go with the gun.
I was lucky enough to be at the right place at the right time to score this PUP! :)

She said they will not offer another pair of the blue VZ carbon fiber grips with the crest, so don't ask.
I tried to convince her there was a market for them. She stated Karl was not happy with the placement of the crest, so they have decided against it.

Adam,

WOW that is very cool indeed. Are you going to leave them on for EDC or use something else to protect them? Either way that is one awesome pup!

I will switch them out if I use the PUP for EDC.
I am partial to the VZ checkered grips. They offer more grip for me.

Is that a stainless steel slide on the Tribute?  It doesn't look shiny like stainless usually does...

It does have a stainless steel slide just like a standard R9.
It has a matte finish.

Adam,

Had the Tribute to the range yet? Also, would love to see it side by side with R343.

To be honest I'm surprised Rohrbaugh hasn't released a similar photo showing a Farmie and a Tribute, since it is well a tribute.

Is there a premium for the Tribute?

The one's that I've seen for sale on the Internet before Google started filtering shopping search results for firearms and firearms related stuff (Damn you Google !!!)... seemed to show higher prices for the Tribute than the standard or the Covert.

The Tribute does have a higher price compared to the standard and stealth.

It is less expensive compared to the Covert.
