Purchased a new R9 stainless yesterday. my first. Purchased to replace my primary pocket carry gun which was a LCP, which has served me well for the past year, but wanted more power. Before buying this masterpiece I bought a diamondback db9. Had problems, long story short after a replacement gun and still unreliable performance I had to return the db9.
Took the R9 to the range and fired approx 75 rounds. What a weapon. Solid construction, sharp recoiled, and very reliable with quality ammo. I fired 36 rounds of PMC with no malfunctions, 24 rounds of WWB with two FTF. 7 Hornady CD, 7 Gold Dot 115, and 7 GD 124 with no malfunctions.
The gun is unbelievably accurate. I shot two separate 6 round groups with WWB at 7 yards LESS THAN 2"!
I plan to carry speer GD 124, I'm sure there is a thread, I have not read the whole site yet, but i was wondering what ammo everyone suggests.
Thanks for any input
very happy with this gun

Nathan:
Welcome to the forum. Congradations on your new PUP, do enjoy! :)
I use 115 GD. They have worked well for me in all the R9s I have owned.

Nathan,
Welcome to the forum. Glad to hear that you decided on the R9! My only warning to you is that these pups are addicting and tend to multiply. As others have confirmed Gold Dots are the way to go.
Enjoy your new pistol.

Welcome to the Forum, congratulations on selecting the finest pocket pistol yet designed, and thank you for that excellent range report.
The Speer 124-grain Gold Dots are an excellent choice for carry ammunition in your new masterpiece.

Nathan,
Congratulations on your new purchase and welcome to the forum. I hope you enjoy your pup and the forum as much as I do! The R9 is a fantastic pistol, I am sure it will serve you well.
Thanks for the information on the PMC ammo. I had not seen that brand mentioned before, I will have to give it a shot (pun intended).

Thanks for posting the positive range report. Too many people only take to the internet when things don't go well. Enjoy your R9.
