Title: Any Typing Issues While Posting ?

Just wondering if this is just happening to me:

When posting on this forum ONLY, and I post on other forums mind you, the typing display is delayed 2-4 secconds per letter.

If  I speed type, it will display, however i usually have mistakes and have to go back - you know the routine.

For example , this post should take no more than a minute.  It  probalbly  took five.

I run virus scans daily.   i never had to disable cookies before or anything else.  Everything works on other forums.  This just started about a week ago.

Anyone else???

Reinz:

Some program buried in your computer is probably being triggered by this Forum's software and is using a lot of your CPU capacity. Here is a link to a discussion that may be of help:

Well, those files only appear to belong to Vista, Not XP.

Still  delay.

Got a Dell // XP and none of the problems that you are encountering.  Make sure that your Windows Updates are up to date and that your Virus protection is up to data as well.   Clean up your Brower of all unnessary toolbars and crap, re-boot and try again.

Reinz:

You may already have done this, but if not is would be worth trying as a fix for the problem.

Start your computer in Safe Mode using the F8 key. Then follow this procedure:

Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Disk Cleanup. Depending on the amount of "trash" in your system, the cleanup may take several minutes or more.  After that, Defragment your hard drive also from the System Tools drop-down list.

Good luck on finding the gremlins.

Thanks for that tip Richard. 

I think I may have fiqured it out with my brother.  A few week ago I had a pop up asking to change my search enginge/homepage to "Ask".  I clicked on "No".  It did it anyway.  There are more tool bars and app buttons on that page than you can shake a stick at.  You need a road map just to fiqure out what you want to do.  Booting up explorer took forever.  So I guess, A lot of CPU's were in action.

I removed the programs but it still came up. So, I just changed my home page and rebooted.  It did not help on this forum until the second try.  Now everything is fine.
