For being a plastic frame gun its quite heavy at 29 oz empty, it weighs more than my lightweight Commander.
I'm reasonably sure the R45 will be all metal and I doubt it will weigh as much but I guess we'll have to wait and see.

I'm gonna wait;  as hard as it may seem; always good to have options, though.    :)

I think when the R45 does come out it will be an easy choice. ;D

You just have to love that; no decision, when the time comes!    :D

Have we heard if the R45 is coming out this year?
I have not even heard it being referred to.

Isn't that because you took a hacksaw to your Commander? :)

I never did use the hack saw just a belt sander ;D but it was lighter than that brick before I started, it will good competition for the High-Point as far as weight. :o

The Glock 36 weighs under 21 oz empty and 27 oz loaded.  It is an eigth inch thicker than the Springfield but since niether one is a pocket gun that is not much in my opinion.

A full sized Glock 21 weighd under 27 oz empty.  I wonder if the numbers on the Springfield are wrong?

I think they are - I handled it at the SHOT show, and it didn't seem abnormally heavy...
