This is my first post and I will start by saying I am old, stupid and slow. I have recently purchased a Rohrbaugh R-9 and took it out for the second or third time to fire it. I grabbed what I thought was the second magazine but it was the Wrong Magazine. It was a magazine for a Kahr PM-9. Amazingly it worked fine although it did cause the slide to remain open after the final round. By the way the little pistol has been 100% reliable and accurate for it's size.

Groundhog34. Welcome. Congrats on the recently purchased R9. Glad everything went well even with the wrong mag. Again, welcome and continue to enjoy!
-
Maybe we're on to something. Several rowboaters have expressed a desire for a locked open slide after the last round.
-
Groundhog, a welcome from me as well, alls well that end well. Glad it was a happy ending.
-
hhmmm, never would have thunk it. Welcome Groundhog.

Welcome to the forum Groundhog. I would imagine the follower was holding the slide open, was that the case? Was it difficult to remove the magazine after the last round.
-
I knew the Kahr mags were very similar in size because I had one of my hooked mag extensions on my PM9 mag when I had it. ;D

Groundhog:
Welcome to the Forum!
With regard to that Kahr magazine, as Mr. Spock might say, "Fascinating!"
-
It was no more difficult to remove the kahr mag than the Rohrbaugh mag. The Kahr is 1 or 2 mm longer and has a mag release catch on the side. I guess the mag itself kept the slide open as I had to retract the slide a hair to release the mag.
-
So the mag release never locked on the mag base ?
-
No it locked. I am talking about a tiny tiny bit longer.

Interesting. I just tried my PM9 mags in my R9S. My two 6 round PM9 mags will only go into the R9 mag well about halfway before becoming stuck. My 7 round PM9 mag inserted all the way into the mag well without binding, but since it has the finger rest the mag catch obviously wouldn't hold it in place.

Groundhog, Welcome to the forum family, sounds like you enjoyed the trip to the range even with the wrong mag. Tom
