Title: R9s two tone vs. R9s Stealth
Post by: nyguns on February 07, 2011, 02:28:18 PM
Just curious as to the difference between a two tone and the stealth model. Both R9s with sights.
Is it the two tone has the silver slide and stealth is all black ?? Anything else?
Thanks.

I believe that's the only difference. I'm not aware of anything else after reading of both. I'm pleased with my Stealth.    8)

The R9 Stealth slides are coated with Titan Kote C12, which reduces friction, increases wear resistance and has anti galling properties per the description of the Stealth in the Rohrbaugh Web site.

If this is the same Titankote C12 it sounds like an excellent process.

"the silver slide and stealth is all black"
Basically, that is it. It just all depends on whether you like shiny or black.

And whether you like the extra coating that reduces friction, and wear resistance, or not.    ;D

You have to believe, dano; that's what the Web site states.    ;D

I have seen a Stealth that the finish is worn off the slide from holster wear, so I would have a hard time believing it will offer long term friction reduction or wear resistance on metal to metal. :o

Surely you don't believe everything that you read on the web!  ;D

Here is the way I look at it: If the black finish does not hold up I can take some fine (~1000 grit) sand paper and a sanding block and have an "Elite" looking firearm. Just my (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-forum/2c.gif) (http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys.php)

Well said!  We all try to avoid confrontation, but if the need arises will dig our heels in and fight to the end.
