The Stealth model looks great - especially with the black grip screws ($3.99 for a set of 4 from Rohrbaugh).

While it's true with the Stealth that there could be some holster wear marks, you already must contend with them on the frame which is the same coating on the Stealth as the two-tone models.

I think the Stealth is less obtrusive and less recognizable as a firearm should concealment be slightly less than perfect; my preferred means of pup carry is a rear pocket holster and if you carry that way you may know what I mean.

I prefer two tone. The stealth slide finish is not very durable in my opinion. Better off sending your R9 for a robar np3 finish later on.

It comes down to personal preference. What you like better. I have both. Both were sent out to accurate plating & weaponry for frame checkering and chrome plating.

If your not happy with the gun you select you can always have a more durable finish applied later on.

Hope this helps you in your decision.

Welcome to the forum! :)

The choice all comes down to personal preference. I debated this, the same as you, and finally went with the stealth. JR makes a good point about the black and better concealment in the rear pocket holster. This is where I plan to carry the majority of the time as well.

Choose the one that makes you happy, get a good holster and carry that puppy. Your life could depend on it one day!

jhmedrano,  First let me Welcome you to the group.
You can't go wrong with either model. Typically you will pay more for the Stealth model and I agree with FLCCW on the black finish on the slide it will show holster wear quicker than the Stainless slide.
If you plan on having the gun refinished in Hard Chrome or NP3 get the cheapest model.

Typically, what is the price difference b/w the two models?  Thanks!

Think of the future, you may want to get the R9 Robar treated, then it pays to buy the the less expensive R9.
If you are not concerned about the Robar coating down the road, then get as you choose. I think the Black on the Stealth will in time get marked and loose it's coating.
This just my opinion.

The important fact here is that you are getting an R9.

jhmedrano.  Welcome to the Forum and great that you are thinking of purchasing a new Rohrbaugh.  My thought on your question is what do you prefer, as others have said.  Each above have very good suggestions.  Good luck with your decision.  Again, welcome.

There are some hella deals on the secondary market right now, both models that I have seen.

At this time,as with some other things,it is a buyers market..

If it was me,and I was buying my first now,I would probably buy a Stealth, but if you plan on doing a refinish anyways, then a regular would suit you fine then..

Welcome to the forum..

I personally like the Stealth Elite. Not only do you get the best of both worlds, (Black and Stainless slide) - you get a product that there have been less than 100 made in the world, and that has been discontinued, and is sure to go up in value.

Just my opinion, although I like them all.
