Is this how most of you drew from you holster? I've had trouble with the drew and this seems to have fixed it for me.

What ever works for you is it; I have a Hedley holster without the flat panel and find it easy just to push off with the thumb for quick egress.

I do not have the flat panel on my holster either, and use a push off with my thumb.

The technique of drawing from a holster with a full-counterprint panel will vary from person to person, depending among other factors on the size of a person's hand. Since I have relatively small hands, I use the last two fingers of my right hand to lift the pistol from the holster, grasping with my thumb while sliding my middle finger under the trigger guard and placing my index finger along the slide. Personally, I avoid inserting my trigger finger into the guard until I'm ready to fire the weapon.
-
I agree. I also keep the trigger finger outside the trigger guard until ready to fire. I have found the brain could forget where the trigger finger is or think it is where it should be and it's not.

I watched the video and while it works in slow motion and in practice, when and if you have to pull your weapon to actually use it, stress level is high especially for someone who has not been in that situation before...putting a finger behind the trigger might actually be on the trigger in the heat of the moment...I strongly suggest finding another method to extract the gun from the holster or find a different holster to use...

Agree.

We all agree on that one, for sure.

Worst idea ever. Someone should take his video camera away.

Yes, this is very popular and called the "Plaxico Burrus" draw. Highly recommended for those who go for style over substance.
This is the single stupidest thing I have seen in a long time. And the guy is talking like it is really a viable way to draw... Anyone who has their finger INSIDE the triggerguard PRIOR to seeing the whites of the BG's eyes, is violating one of the FEW BASIC safety rules that govern ALL firearm use. He should have his trigger finger surgically removed to protect us from this insanity, and being accidentally capped as he confidently demonstrates this abomination of mechanical ineptitude.
Grab the handle or something, BUT NOT THIS! Tie paracord to it. Anything.

Bad. Violates one of the biggies.

OMG! :o

Yes, I can only imagine someone in panic mode reaching back for their Double action piece and thinking their finer was on the front strap of the gun pulling it out hurridly and then discovering that their finge was actually on the trigger. (Discovered after the BANG of course, and most likely blowing a nice long hole in the back of their leg)
This is by far the most ignorant of people advising others to do this!
