First range event with new R9 Stealth. I warmed up by running 24rds through my H&K P7. Nice groupings (all within 4 inches) at 25ft using multiple taps. Pretty typical of my skills(?) with a familiar & accurate weapon. Then the R9 using Speer Gold Dots 115gr. Not knowing what to expect I started at 15ft and moved out. Whoa! At 15ft very tight groups (all in 3 inches) At 25ft tried multiple taps. Significantly more muzzle flip than the P7 but the trigger is SOO smooth. Slight gathering right before release lets you know and the long pull is good for this no safety wonder. Had people around my station wondering what I was shooting. Even my former instructor came over for a look. I finished by completing the box with the P7 and realized why there are different guns for different situations.
I'm sold. The Pup gets fed a strict diet but I will stake my life on it! Many thanks to the forum for break down and cleaning tips. The procedure is Not self evident by a long shot. Practice makes it faster, not perfect.
