I am a long time happy Winchester Silvertip user in my R9S. Unfortunately I am afflicted with the need to try new ammo when it comes to market. I got my hands on two boxes (25 rounds each) of Hornady's new Critical Critical Defense 115gr ammo and went to the range with them and a box of 50 Winchester Silvertips.
The Silvertips will remain my carry ammo. They are more accurate for me and have always performed flawlessly. I had a Failure To Feed and a Failure to Fire (light primer strike that fired with the second squeeze of the trigger) with the Hornady . The Silvertips as usual performed perfectly and also had less felt recoil making double taps quicker.
On light primer strikes: I have had this now with the Hornady and the newly developed Cor-Bon 80gr. The primers seem harder than the Winchester Silvertips. The firing pin strike is noticably deeper in the Winchester primers.
