Has anyone have anything to say about the new 90gr CorBon that was sold in the Rohrbaugh store, I don't see it there anymore.
I came across a new Federal load, a HP solid copper bullet, low recoil, anyone ever use that one. The factory description is as follows:
Federal Cartridge 9mm Luger by Federal 9mm Luger, 105gr, Expanding Full Metal Jacket,
Low Recoil for a softer shooting load. The Expanding Full Metal Jacket combines a patented scored metal nose and internal rubber tip for consistent expansion and performance even through barriers, yet its unique design reduces the risk of collateral effect. Usage: Self Defense
Mfg No: PD9CSP2H
Much cheaper than the CorBon.

I also noticed that the Rohrbaugh store no longer lists the CorBon rounds. At $35/box I wasn't too anxious to shoot 'em anyway.
Hornady has a new "Critical Defense" round which features a polymer slug in the hollow point. List price is $20 / box of 25 rounds in 115 gr. 9mm Luger. It's being heavily advertised in the gun mags, even featured on the back cover of Cabela's 2009 Shooting Catalog. Trouble is nobody has 9mm in stock - only .380 ACP. I've got some on order at my local gun shop and will report on how they function in my R9s when(ever) I get them.
If you get hold of that Federal ammo, report back, and we'll all know how both brands function..

I recently purchased a supply of this new COR-BON ammunition from The Rohrbaugh Store and intend to try it at my next range session in a couple of weeks or so (weather and client demands permitting). When I return, I'll post a range report on how my venerable "No. 132" likes these new "screamers" as opposed to its usual diet of Golden Sabers.
Meanwhile, we'll probably soon be hearing more on the round's development and testing from Mike at Team COR-BON:

I bought a few boxes on the AmmunitionToGo website.

Haven't shot it yet...still waiting for my R9s

My R9S did not like the new Corbon rounds. It likes most other things, though. Silvertips, WWB, and Golden Saber are the best for me.

Mike from Cor-Bon said they are working on the issues with the new ammunition. So far I have not read here of anyone having success with this round. I'm sure that will change in the future.

Hey All, Put a ful box of corbons through my
r-9s . I have a custom serial # but I guess it would have landed in the 1000-1200 range. Shot them all just fine, But my gun seems to digest anything I put in it. Dan

Dan:
So does No. 132. The only thing it seems to require is that the load be standard-pressure 9x19mm Parabellum. I expect it to throw the new COR-BON "screamers" downrange without complaint.
(Have I ever mentioned that I purely admire this pistol? 8) )
