Title: Can You Hurt The Pup?
Post by: chasdo4 on February 11, 2009, 07:02:57 AM
I am a new owner with a couple of questions.  I am currently wating on Rohrbaugh Firearms to help me with my failure to fire issue on my new gun.  Aside from that, I was surprised at how easy and pleasant it was to shoot.  I have a Guardian 380 which is a beast (after 50 rounds your hand and finger are sore).  I didn't find this to be so with the R9.  There appeared to be some wear on the frame where it meets the slide after shooting 50 rounds and since the frame is an alluminum alloy, I was wondering if there is any chance of damaging it with regular use? (say 50 rounds per month) Also, is there any maintence requirement of having the gun go back to the factory for service after say 1000 rounds or so?  I wasn't sure if there was an official policy on this or not. Thanks for your help.

The wear you see is normal.

I know of R9s with thousands of rounds and no factory visit.

when you get it back, keep shooting and enjoy it. It's a great carry.  Tom

Thanks for your thoughts.  Is there a recommended maintence for the pistol after so many rounds?  Should it be sent back to the factory after say 1000 rounds or is this unnecessary?  Thanks.

I am not aware of any requirement to send the pup
back to Rohrbaugh for periodic maintenance based
on time or rounds fired. They address issues if they
occur has been my positive experience.
