Well, I'm back lurking around, checking out the R9 again. The Elites look awesome, by the way. Folks - how reliable are the "newer" R9s now? In the past I read alot of posts about problems, while the Rohrbaugh folks were just getting things rolling. It's been a couple of years now and I'm wondering how trust-worthy the R9 is now. I'm an FFL dealer and have seen good and bad in about everything. But everything isn't $1,000. I, like some folks, have a 2nd Generation P-3AT that is totally dependable - never a problem. So - that's pretty good for a $250.00 pocket pistol. Is the R9, at least as dependable now as the Kel-Tec? I also own a Kahr PM9 that is accurate and totally reliable.

why indeed.......
....... sorry, just my first reaction after reading the original thread you started back in 05'.

You know, I posted in another thread here also. It's amazing that you can have genuine questions and concerns, never really get them answered, and get ridiculed to top it all off. I guess any further questions should be addressed to the Rohrbaughs - I've heard they are pretty good folks. :-/

I don't know, I bought a secondhand R9 this year - 2005 production IIRC - and it's great.
I have an early P-32, sn 12xxx, that had to go back when the trigger axis broke. It's been fine ever since.
There's a lot to be said for excellent customer service.

Bubbaman, I have one of the early R-9s. This gun goes bang every time I pull the trigger. I have complete faith that it will continue to go bang everytime I pull the trigger. Dan

Bubbaman, In the past some R9s had problems. Actually there were very few guns. They were sent back and fixed. I would say far less than 1%. The folks with guns that work and run are a quiet lot. The R9s with the new springs are working great. Tom

Thanks Tom. I'm clearing out some stuff, and I may be checking into getting one soon. It'll be nice to have a small 9mm besides my PM9. ::)

Bubbaman,
I can't say that my R9S Stealth was perfect. It took two trips back to the factory. But what I can say the service was great and the R brothers want nothing but perfection. I have that perfection now and I would put my life on the line with my pup. Now thats a guard dog.
I am considering seriously another pup and probably an Elite.
