Title: Refinish Carbon Fiber Grips
Post by: wskteo on May 02, 2006, 02:53:27 PM
I have some holster wear on my R9 carbon fiber grips.  I was wondering if it is possible to refinish the grips?  Thanks.

I don't think they have a finish, try some car wax or some kind of polish to bring the luster back. I think the design goes all the way threw the grip but I'm not certain of this. :-/

Welcome :)

You sure must have carried for a good long time I'll guess, to see any real wear or loss of CF finish.  I can't see much option for refinishing as such and yes, AFAIK or recall, the pattern is ''thru and thru''.

For now anyways I'd think as Newt - re some small application of a wax polish to help luster.  Other thought but not one I'd implement without checking first - might be use of rouge and a buffing wheel but not sufficient to produce excessive heat thru friction.
