I am new to this brand and would like to know that I am pronunciating the name correctly. thanks in advance.
-
Roar, as in Lion
Bow, as in take a bow
Roarbow (Rohrbaugh)
-
Actually, that is not correct.
ROAR-baw with the emphasis on the first syllable. Call their phone number if you have any doubts! ;D

>>Not to worry Jarach42 new guy...
They will let you buy an R9 even if you don't get the name right first try...TW<<
-
If I am wrong about the pronunciation of "baugh", my high school German did not serve me well. However, if the Rohrbaugh's wish to pronounce and/or inflect the syllables of their name, in the manner described by the Adminstrator, so be it.
I am still willing, however, to pronounce it "bow" and go "bow wow" if it will amuse the Rohrbaugh's into shipping me the R9 I ordered November 8th.
Whatever it takes.

Americanized, perhaps... but that is their choice. ;)
In my experience, its spoken more with a New York accent than a German one!
-
Having spoken to Eric, I concede the point you make as to the New York accent.
Arf Arf! :)
-
Odd - I speak with Eric quite a bit - and get voice mails etc ... where he announces self ... always comes to me as ''Row-bow'' ... or is that ''Row-bar'' ... haha ... only ever address him as Eric anyways! ;D
He knows I am ''odd'' anyways - being an EX Limey and all that! He expects things to be ''strange''! :D

Thanks for the welcome and the information. I live in Alabama and I am having a hard time finding any dealers that have even heard of the Rohrbaugh, much less have any on order. I have taken some information to several dealers and they are contacting Rohrbaugh about placing an order. Who knows how long it will take but eventually I should have one of these little jewels.

Jarich42: Welcome to the forum. You are where I was 13 weeks ago when my gun dealer ordered the R9S.
As far as I know, my order from a local gun dealer will not be treated any differently from a gun dealer with which Rohrbaugh may have a closer relationship.
I say this because you should be able to order from any reputable dealer. If, on the other hand, there are dealers/distributors who will get preferential treatment over the gun I ordered, it will benefit you in the short term to find out who they are and I will need to go postal.
