Title: stripping a moon clip
Post by: Aglifter on September 23, 2005, 08:34:35 PM
I have some for my 625, and my SP101, and I can't figure out how to get them empty -- any suggestions for a tool/technique, etc?

Thanks

I usually just twist them out while kind of torquing them at an angle away from the moon clip. There are some specific tools that you can use if you really need them. They are sold here:

I use the screw-driver type demooner from TK Moonclips, as shown above.  It works very well.   A simple twist and the case comes out without bending.

I use my .45 ACP demooner tool to demoon 9mm and .38/.357 brass too...

Ag - a tool helps a lot because they can be bears to get out.  usually a twist and pull can work but it's hard going.

Let me take a pic of my home made demooner - I happened to have a piece of tube just right to suit for size.  It was easy to make, and internal dia big enough that .45 cases slide down inside.

I'll post again later on.
