I decided I wanted to build an AK. Looked around at all of the various styles and decided to go with the newer Yugo M92 Krinkov. I've got someone local that has built over 200 AK's, so he's got the knowledge and tools, to help me with this project. I plan on keeping it an SBR vs. extending the barrel with a fake suppressor. I'll just have to do the paperwork and pay the tax.
Here's what I've got.

Here's what it'll look like when I'm done.

Well, it will be when you get it together. Nice!

Thanks. The receiver came in yesterday. The plan is to work on it next weekend.

Great! Good to see a plan coming together.

That looks real nice. I've built percussion black powder guns from kits, perhaps I'll have to try one of these.
How much do they run and how hard are they to put together?

ItsOnlyMoney. How did the plan work out? Is the Yugo M92 together? Just wondering!

I'm holding off for a bit. I've got to wait for all the paperwork to be completed first. I'm having an attorney create an NFA specific trust to place this SBR in and submit the Form 1. Got to do it legal, don't want to be in violation of any federal law.

I do understand. Legal is quite a process, but necessary.

They're finally together. And both registered SBR's. In addition to the Yugo M92 I also had a Bulgarian AKS-74U built at the same time. I had the opportunity to test fire them both yesterday and they're a lot of fun to shoot. The guy that built them also has an SOT license which allows him to build / have full auto rifles. He had several full auto ak's. Needless to say that was an experience. It's not everyday I get to shoot full auto ;D.

Beautiful work and formidable weapons.

Fine looking pair, the AK is the 1911 of rifles plain or fancy they are reliable and come in many forms with tons of aftermarket goodies.

Glad to see this project finished. Excellent looking pair, for sure. The fully auto's are a real experience. :)

Like that underfolder!

Good looking SBRs!!
My state of MI says no to these though!!
But we can have one if it's a Full Auto!! ;D

Most guys in states likes MI blind pin a fake suppressor on to make the barrel length legal. I thought about going that route to avoid the hassle of obtaining the tax stamps. I decided to go the extra step to keep them more original.
The underfolder is chambered in 7.62 x 39 and with that style stock wears on you a little after a few mags. The side folder is chambered in 5.45 x 39 and much more pleasant to shoot. This is the one I plan on getting a red dot scope for and taking out more.
Thanks for the compliments.

We in MI have our own laws concerning SBRs that are different than the Feds do too!!
Makes things down right confusing sometimes!!
I truly would love a Krink!! 8)
