Title: special forces r9 for sale maybe
Post by: clarman on May 04, 2011, 05:41:03 PM
I have one of the limited  r9 special forces model made..I believe only 24 were made but I could be wrong.I am thinking about reluctantly selling it and my 550.00 custom mitch rosen black aligator pocket holster and mags with extensions...the gun is perfect and has been fired 5 times cleaned and put back in its case..IIt is out of warranty but I believe you can buy a new warr from maria although I wouldnt waste the money.I sold my previous spf last year for 3k...i am open to selling this one and the mr holster but as this is very limited model , it will take serious $  to pry it out of my hands..the reason for my selling is I am recovering from my divorce! otherwise I wouldnt think about parting with it....as I am not on the forum alot if any interest my email is clarman@larman.com   thx charlie

I believe you are required to post an asking price for any items listed for sale here on the forum.

Charlie, There is a dealer in PA that has a brand new Special Forces for your asking price. You can check gun broker to verify.

I don't see that Special Forces model on Gunbroker right now.  I do recall seeing the one for THAT much $ listed on gunbroker for a   L   O   N   G  time with no bids.

Could you post a pic of that holster?  I would like to see what a $550 holster looks like!

I am including 550 holster with gun. Making my gun effectivly 3950.  If you ordered the holster you would pay more for it and wait for months to get it... The black alig is a very classy addition to the gun...

What was done to the Special Forces model that makes it better than a Robar or Covert model other than only made a few. (Engineer in me always heads that direction)
I am a form follows function type of guy.  ;D

Clarman, do you happen to know what the MSRP on the SF was? Can you buy the limited editions for less than that when they are released. I know I cannot, I am sure there are a few on the forum who may be able to do so. That gun got the Wilson treatment I believe, which means it was probably assembled twice, (man hours) was shipped back and forth, some of the interior was polished up a bit adding a few more man hours. A couple of more hours into a bit of tuning according to the website, then the marketing. I am pretty sure the brothers are not increasing their margin a great deal by producing these unique models. Maybe keeping interest up a bit and having a little fun. I am not sure why silly questions are asked about prices on some of these models when people might be just trying to get their dollars back for a pricier weapon. No it is not going to take the bad guy out at 100 yards but it still cost several hundred more than an R9 when new and there are few around :). Yours even had John's very fine extended mag grips. Its like saying you should sell a Wilson for a Keltec price. Stretching the point of course, I think I will go step outside to listen to and smell the ocean for a while, it tends to clear my head.
Nice piece for a great price. Congrats to both.
